In a Live interview on TALK1300, DMG Investments’ COO, Jeffrey Amengual discusses the Auden Living brand and the impact of COVID-19 on student housing with Paul Vandenburgh.
Mr. Amengual introduces the off-campus student housing brand, Auden Living, and discusses the steps that were taken by the brand to mitigate the impact of the coronavirus. Auden Albany, a student housing apartment complex under the Auden Living brand, is located adjacent to SUNY Albany. At Albany, precautions were taken such as temporarily closing its fitness center and yoga studio as well as increasing cleaning and maintenance of common areas and amenity spaces.
When asked about school reopening in the fall and how the virus has affected student housing, Mr. Amengual provided insight into the unique amenities at Auden Albany. Unlike most student housing apartments, Auden Albany matches each bed with a private bathroom. In addition, apartments come equipped with high-speed internet, in-unit washers & dryers and in-unit kitchens. These features allow students to continue their coursework and avoid densely populated areas such as the university cafeterias and laundry facilities.
With the second wave of the virus looming and no vaccine in sight, it seems that the conveniences of Auden Albany which can’t be matched in on-campus dorms, might just be what students need to make it through a healthy, successful semester.
